YEREVAN. - The entire process related to the detention of the Russian programmer Sergey Mironov in Armenia is just a kind of crazy provocation from the side of the United States.

Mironov’s wife, Yulia Mironova, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

In her words, the charges brought against her husband are nothing but delirium. “”there is no single fact, which would confirm his guilt. He has been dealing with video analytics very long ago: that is a program, which ensures security in large companies of Russia: the metro and trade centers. And here we come up with this. What weapons? This is an absolute delirium,” Mironova stressed.

According to her, they were perhaps fortunate to have appeared exactly in Armenia. “Armenia is a friendly country and it will by all means help to observe the law and return the Russian citizen. I’m glad we didn’t appear in a country like Turkey, which has conflicts with Russia,” the woman said.

She also told journalists that Sergey Mironov is the only supporter of their family.  “I don’t work. We have two little children: the girl is three and the boy is eight. This should also be considered,” Mironova said.

In her words, her husband is also shocked and at a loss. “Fortunately I managed to find wonderful attorneys and our Embassy reacted very operatively, despite the fact that it was weekend. It is a great shock for him, since he wasn’t wanted in Russia: He moved freely,” Mironova noted. According to her, he also has a one-year Schengen visa issued by the Spanish Embassy.

“If my husband laundered money, I wouldn’t go with him to Armenia and live in a cheap hotel. I would probably travel around in a yacht in the French Riviera, like many successful people do,” she added.

The Armenian court has denied the motion on the arrest of Sergey Mironov, noting that it was unjustified.

Russian citizen Sergey Mironov, 30, was detained in Yerevan airport on Friday. The man, who has been put on the international wanted list upon the request of the U.S., is suspected of “being an IT specialist in the sphere of arms trafficking.”
