The murderer of John Lennon's has been denied parole for the 9th time, reports New York Daily News. Mark Chapman will be able to apply for parole only after 2 years. The reason of the refusal is not known, but, according to the newspaper, one of the members of the parole board said that Chapman’s release " would undermine respect for the law.”

On December 8 of 1980, Chapman shot in Lenon’s back, when he was returning home with his wife Yoko Ono from the recording studio. The murderer did not attempt to escape from the crime scene. The police found him right there, reading Jerome Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye.  The court found him guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment,  giving him a right to request conditional release on parole after 20 years.
