President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) Bako Sahakyan on Monday visited Gishi village and Tchartar town of the republic's Martuni region.

There he took part in the grand opening of new sports complexes named after Araskh hero Monte Melkonian.

Sahakyan expressed his gratitute to the benefactor Vladimir Avagyan for implementing those important progjects.  The President noted that the state will henceforth pay special attention to the physical education of the young generation, the press-service of the NKR President's Office reports.

The event was also attended by the leader of Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Archbishop Pargev Matrirosyan, PM Arayik Harutyunyan and other officials.
