On August 29, the President of Uzbekistan, 79-year-old Islam Karimov, who ruled the country for more than 26 years, passed away in Tashkent. As Fergana reports, Karimov passed away at 15: 00-16: 00. The Uzbek authorities have not officially informed about the president's death. Karimov had suffered a stroke in the morning of August 27, and, then, was taken to hospital.
