Ashot Grigoryan, head of the Armenian community of Slovakia, plans to invest $20 million to resume production at Nairit chemical rubber plant in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.

Grigoryan himself told about the aforementioned to reporters at Tuesday’s videoconference.

Ashot Grigoryan, who is also President of the EU-ASIA Business Finance Centre Holding, stated that company representatives wish to visit Yerevan on September 12 and 13, and then Nairit—to assess its condition.

Karen Israyelyan, the plant’s former director, and Gagik Avetisyan, the head of Nairit’s rubber production facility, for their part, told reporters that Ashot Grigoryan,  as a possible investor, has also reached an agreement on natural gas supplies to the plant from Iran, which provides acetylene—the rubber raw material—to Nairit.

Accordingly, the plant may resume operations next spring.
