Today, on August 30 there kicks off the third round of presidential elections in Estonia.  As the chairman of the Parliament Eiki Nesto informs, the voting results will be published at 17.09, reports the RIA Novosti.

On Monday and Tuesday, none of three candidates won during the first and second rounds of elections. In order to win a candidate must receive at least two thirds of the MP votes or no less 68 votes out of 101.

In the third round there are competing the former European Commission Vice-President Siim Kallas, who the large factions of ruling coalition - the Reform Party and the Social Democratic Party- support and Mailis Reps from the opposition, nominated by the Estonian Centre Party. They got more votes in the second round than other candidates. Kallas collected 45 votes, Reps 32.

The third candidate Allar Jõks, who was nominated by the members of the parliamentary faction of the Union of Fatherland and the Estonian Free Party, received 21 votes, and in accordance with the law cannot pass to the next stage. The interest towards the third round is very high, since it is not clear  who the MPs who supported Jõks in the the first and second rounds will give their votes.
