Moscow is quite satisfied with the G20 format, which fully reflects the balance of powers in the world, said the Russian president's press secretary Dmitry Peskov, in response to the request of the German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier to comment on the statement about Russia's prospects of returning to the G8.

As the RIA Novosti reports, Peskov said that the format of "big twenty" allows " to receive a fuller part from the leading economies of the world." "It reflects the balance of powers and allows Russia to explore its potential in that format," said the Russian president's press secretary.

Earlier, Steinmeier talked in the German media about a possibility of Russia's return to G8. The possibility of making such a decision, according to him is a progress registered in Donbass and negotiations with Syria.
