U.S. Ambassador to Turkey John Bass was called to account to the country’s MFA in connection with the statement of Washington on the fragility of the agreement between the Turkish authorities and Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD), Hurriyet writes.

According to the spokesperson for the Turkish MFA, Tanju Bilgiç, during the meeting it was stressed that “such statements are unacceptable and do not correspond to the relations with the alliance.” Bilgiç’s statement came after representatives of the US Department of Defense urged Turkey to halt clashes with the Kurds.
