YEREVAN. – A total of 1.2 billion drams (approx. US$2.5 million) will be allocated in the current year, for the complete renewal of the second motorway that stretches from Armenia to the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh).

The respective decision was reached at Friday’s Cabinet session of the Government of Armenia.

The needed money will be allocated from the government reserve fund to the Ministry of Transport and Communication, and the latter will transfer this amount to Hayastan [(Armenia)] All Armenian Fund, on donation basis.

This highway is 116 km long. It passes from the southeast shores of Armenia’s Lake Sevan toward the NKR center, via northern regions of Artsakh.
