Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia Aram I and his delegation left for Amman on Monday to attend the Assembly of the Middle East Council of Churches (MECC).

Catholicos Aram I, who is one of the four Presidents of the Council representing the Oriental Orthodox Family, will be the keynote speaker.

He will address the current conflicts in the Middle East and their challenge to the member churches. The membership of the MECC includes all local churches. Given the importance of the timing of the Assembly, all the patriarchs of member churches will attend.
