According to experts, more than a half of residents of Turkey, 56% and Tunisia, 52% believe women should wear what they want. These figures are a little lower in Saudi Arabia, 47% and Lebanon, 49%.

Residents of Iraq, 27%, Pakistan, 22% and Egypt, 14% are less tolerant in this regard.

According to The Independent, Saudi Arabia is among the few nations to legally impose a dress code on women, stipulating that they must wear the abaya – a loose floor-length dress – in public and a headscarf. Similar rules are applied in Iran and UAE, although the Western women may not follow the regulations there.
