Powerful typhoon Malakas hits central regions of Japan, announces the Asahi Simbun.

The wind speed reached 180 km per hour. The meteorological office of Japan has warned residents about a possible topping of stronger wind and rains, as well as high waves of the storm. The most affected region is Miyazaki prefecture (Kyushu Island). There are streets completely filled with water and roads collapsed due to landslides. A number of flights were canceled, and the railway communication was interrupted due to the landslide. Thousands of houses remained without electricity; several dozen people were injured.
