President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev recalled a year-old “offense” at the meeting with the delegation of the EU-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee on Tuesday.

“That was an accusation against me on committing a crime. I can sue those who wrote that,” he said, referring to the resolution adopted a year ago by the European Parliament in regard to Azerbaijan.

Moreover, Aliyev categorically denies the assertions on the deterioration of the human rights situation and repressions against the civil society and journalists.

Earlier, the European Parliament adopted a resolution, urging to apply targeted sanctions against the Azerbaijani officials in connection with the human rights violations in the country.
