YEREVAN. - By the end of September, the Armenian authorities want to adopt standard form agreement for connecting to the solar mini-plants.

Deputy Minister of Energy, Hayk Harutyunyan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am on Thursday.

Now it is also possible to connect to the network with one’s own solar panel, but this will become much easier with a standard form agreement. The document must be approved by the Public Services Regulatory Commission, Harutyunyan added.

Since May, the owners of solar plants with a capacity of up to 150kW can supply energy to the network without VAT. The network doesn’t pay them for that (Armenia has no tariff for solar power), but their payment for electricity is deduced in the amount of the supplies to the network.

The law is in effect retrospectively since 1 January 2015  (in the interests of two large plants, which operate since then). And since May 2016, banks and leasing companies have already started offering solar panels on loan and for hire.

“Now we want to facilitate this procedure. And it is better to once again consult with the business sector and propose an accurate solution, rather than hurry and make a mistake,” the deputy Minister added.
