Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair said he will close his commercial enterprises Tony Blair Associates and the Firerush and Windrush structures, The Guardian reported.

According to Blair, he intends to focus on not-for-profit activities and is ready to spend all money earned by the Tony Blair Associates company.

“I will retain a small number of personal consultancies for my income, but 80% of my time will be pro bono on the not-for-profit side”, the ex-prime minister said.

The newspaper reminds that political and commercial interests of Blair were very often entwined, especially in the Middle East, the move that was often exposed to criticism.

Blair has been engaged in consultancy business since his withdrawal from frontline politics. He built a group of organizations that employed about 200 people and operated in more than 20 countries.
