Exactly 25 years ago on this day, all the Armenian media outlets, regardless of their orientation, wrote about one and the same subject: the independence referendum. 

For several days on end, the feature articles of the press were released with the following titles: “Yes by all means,” “Independence will enter any Armenian family,” “Festivity before victory,” “Our Yes is oath to homeland,” “Independence is not isolation,” etc. 

And already after the referendum, when the preliminary results were publicized, the citizens spontaneously gathered in the Liberty Square to celebrate the historical event. A nationwide festivity started. 

In those days, the journalists took interview not only from the intellectuals and politicians, but also from ordinary citizens, who reasoned about the value of independence and the significance of statehood.
