YEREVAN. – An investors’ operative consultation center will be established at the government, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan said at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

In his words, the Ministry of Economy needs to be given extended powers to work with investors. In particular, the matter of granting privileges to investors will be resolved faster. And if a company does not meet the criteria for being granted privileges but informs that it needs them, this matter will be taken up separately.

“Legislative changes are needed to extend the powers of the Ministry of Economy,” noted acting minister Artsvik Minasyan. “[But] a working group is already set up to prepare the [respective] bills.”
