YEREVAN. – Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan has proposed to rename three ministries, and dissolve another.

At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, Government Chief of Staff-Minister Davit Harutyunyan informed that it is proposed to rename the Ministry of Economy as the Ministry of Investments and Entrepreneurship Assistance; the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources—as the Ministry of Energy Infrastructure and Natural Resources; and the Ministry of Transport and Communication—as the Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technology.

In addition, it is proposed that the Ministry of Urban Development be dissolved. And the State Committee for Architecture and Cultural Values’ Protection will be established in its stead.

These proposals, however, are preliminary.

Sometime thereafter, when the government will develop a new program and introduce it, these structural changes also will be considered, if needed.
