The member of Sasna Tserer group Arayik Khandoyan does not consider that he has lost the elections in Tsaghkahovit, said his lawyer Arayik Papikyan to the NEWS.am. "These elections were held with pressures and bribes. The once again prove that it is impossible to achieve a change through elections under the current government. At the same time , he said that 260 people said no to slavery and chose freedom.”

According to the defense , Khandoyan said he had expected such an outcome. The authorities would not allow him to win. Arayik Khandoyan received 257 votes during Tsagkahovit elections. 

Arayik Khandoyan is charged under Article 218, Part 3, point 1 of the Criminal Code ( taking hostages) and article 235, paragraph 3 (purchasing, selling, storing, and transporting weapons and ammunition) .
