When fear reigns in the world, countries are turning away from each other. This was announced by the President of the European Council Donald Tusk during his speech at the 71st session of the UN General Assembly.

According to him, people need to regain the sense of security they had lost. Tusk believes that the main task of the international community today is to provide assistance to refugees. "In the last months, Europe has been confronted by the refugee crisis to a particularly large degree. Nevertheless, in all our actions aimed at solving the problem of refugees, the European Union is driven by empathy and the readiness to offer help to those in need, even if the world turns its back and pretends not to see,” said Tusk.

He stressed that the European Union has already allocated billions of dollars to provide humanitarian assistance to refugees and migrants and is ready to allocate more resources in the coming two months.
