YEREVAN. - Armenia will have an entirely new government by the end of next week.

Spokesman for the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmaznaov, who is also the Vice President of the National Assembly (NA), said the aforementioned to journalists after the RPA Executive body session on Thursday.

In his words, the process of changes in the government will be continuous.  “Definitely, faults have always been and will be. Our issue must be to govern efficiently. We, the RPA members, are fully responsible for PM Karapetyan’s Cabinet, and will do our best for his Cabinet to be a success,” Sharmazanov said.

Referring to Wednesday’s military parade, he noted that there should be no doubt in regard to the technical replenishment of Armenian armed forces. “I positively assess the work carried out. Possessing strong security system will still long remain No. 1 issue for Armenia,” he said.

Commenting on the information disseminated by media regarding the possible division of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) and dismissal of its Chairman Hovhannes Hovsepyan, Sharmazanov said that he personally knows Hovsepyan. “He is a principled and professional person. His name is not connected with import or export, or lobbying of any goods. This is very important, since this means that he has no interest. Hovhannes Hovsepyan works very efficiently in the post of the SRC Chairman,” the RPA spokesman said.

To the question as to whether the SRC Chairman became a millionaire by virtue of running a political office, Sharmazanov said: “Being a millionaire isn’t bad [per se]  unless you have become one dishonestly and not through your own efforts.”
