The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia received a call on Friday at 6:16am, the ministry informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Accordingly, a road accident had occurred on the Sisian-Goris motorway in Syunik Province, there were injured, and assistance was needed.

A fire and rescue squad was dispatched to the scene.

It was found out that a car—with Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) citizen Valeri Baghdasaryan, 60, behind its steering wheel—had struck a horse on the aforesaid motorway, gone off road, and crashed into an adjacent rock.

Prior to the fire and rescue workers’ arrival on the scene, however, the driver was rushed to the Sisian town hospital, where, however, he died.

Passengers R. D., 60, and A. A., 55, were taken to the Goris town hospital, where physicians said they are in satisfactory condition.
