YEREVAN. – The local government elections on September 18 were free and fair, and they were in line with the requirements of the Electoral Code of Armenia.
Tigran Mukuchyan, Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Friday.
He noted that such a conclusion can be drawn by considering the actual relevant data that were received.
“The [respective] openness [of these elections] was completely ensured,” added Mukuchyan.
Local elections were conducted on September 18, in 317 communities in Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Syunik, and Tavush Provinces in Armenia.
