A Samsung Galaxy Note 2 smartphone caught fire on board an Indian IndiGo plane on Friday, Gazeta reports, citing India Today.

During the flight from Singapore to Chennai, the passengers felt the smell of the smoke. The cabin crew on board found out the smoke was coming from one of the overhead bins. A partially burned down Galaxy Note 2 was found in a baggage.

Following the release of Samsung Galaxy Note 7, various complaints have been received on the device’s deflagration due to its accumulator defect.

The Australian Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin Australia airlines have banned charging Samsung Galaxy Note 7 on board their planes. On September 9, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration banned Galaxy Note 7, asking passengers to neither charge the device aboard its planes nor register it.
