Head of far-right Jewish organization was arrested after disrupting performance by Armenian Church choir in Jerusalem during arts festival.

Bentzi Gopstein and another member of radical far-right Lehava organization were arrested on Thursday evening, the Times of Israel reported . They were arrested after refusing to obey police orders.

During the performance by the choir of Jerusalem’s Armenian Church, the protesters began shouting and reportedly yelling “Jew murderers!” and “Go back to Syria”, Haaretz reported.

Wadie Abunassar, the executive director of the Assembly of Catholic Bishops in the Holy Land, condemned the attack.

Lehava strictly opposes Jewish assimilation, objecting to any personal or business relationships between Jews and non-Jews. It is opposed to the Christian presence in Israel.
