The control over online casinos in Armenia will help fight money laundering.

Deputy Minister of Finance Pavel Safaryan said the aforementioned in the Armenian National Assembly (NA) on Tuesday, introducing the draft amendments to the Law on Licensing during the 2nd and final reading.

According to the bill, online games with payoff will be licensed by the same complexity level as the ordinary casinos.

“Absence of control created a danger of money laundering, especially considering that that the casino organizer may not know his real players. Now it is planned to remove this gap,” Safaryan said.

It is proposed that the law take effect since 1 June 2017 in order to give business time to get used to the new and more stringent conditions.
