YEREVAN. - A consultation attended by banking system representatives was held in the Armenian Government on Tuesday, The meeting was headed by Armenian PM Karen Karapetyan.

The latter underscored the importance of the meeting with the representatives of the area, stressing that he anticipates proposals which will be practical and with non-standard solutions, whose implementation will give a new impetus to the improvement of the business environment and involvement of investments.

“Our task is to listen to the issues and challenges of the financial and economic system, as well as their expectations from the Government. Our goal is to allow the business to “breathe.” Thus, I expect you to come up with proposals, noting what specific measures should be taken to ensure additional loans to the economy. It is time to propose practical solutions,” Karapetyan noted.

He also offered the banking system representatives to draw out relevant mechanisms in banks to provide loans to small and medium businesses via the assets present, thus contributing to the invigoration of different branches of the economy.

For his part, the Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) Arthur Javadyan presented the monetary policy and the common situation with the loans provided to the economy.

Summing up the consultation, PM Karapetyan instructed the ministers representing financial and economic bloc to discuss the presented proposals and continue the joint work with the banking system representatives to solve the issues raised and implement different projects in specific areas of economy.
