YEREVAN. - Due to economic difficulties in Armenia, the tax payments of large taxpayers in a number of sectors have reduced.

Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia, Vakhtang Mirumyan, said the aforementioned to journalists Wednesday.

The first problematic sector is the mining industry, where the international prices for metals continue to remain low.

The second one is the financial and banking sector, where there is no VAT, the main revenues coming from the income tax. A number of banks recorded objective tax losses in 2015 and 2016.

The third sector includes the telecommunication companies, where the reduction of voice services is noticeable.

The fourth sector relates to the alcoholic beverages, whose sale (especially that of brandy) is more difficult in Russia (due to economic difficulties with ruble).

“We found 47 bln AMD taxes missing in the accounts of 181 out of 520 enterprises within the period from January to August 2016. This is very essential given that 54 percent of the tax revenues are provided exactly by these companies,” he said.
