Armenia should again be included in the Millennium Challenges Program. 

Congresswoman Jackie Speier noted the aforesaid at an evening reception in the US, and devoted to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence.

Speier said they are carrying out activities aimed at making relations with Armenia grow deeper. She noted that they have several respective objectives, which include the resumption of the Millennium Challenges Program funding to Armenia; the opening of direct flights between Los Angeles and Armenia; the development of relations with the towns of Armenia; and the organizing of a US Congressional delegation visit to the country.

Armenian Ambassador Grigor Hovhannissian, for his part, noted that the US has always been a reliable friend and ally to Armenia. He stated that the US has helped Armenia overcome the economic crisis, and assisted the country in building democratic institutions and carrying out reforms toward economic development. Hovhannissian added that Armenia wishes to bring cooperation with the US to a qualitatively new level, and that this collaboration has deepened in a variety of domains.
