YEREVAN. – There should not be separate public procurements within the government, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan said at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting (PHOTOS).
He commissioned Government Chief of Staff-Minister Davit Harutyunyan to submit proposals as to which products and services should to be procured with a centralized procedure.
In this connection, Karapetyan instructed to discuss the expedience of having project implementation offices under the ministries and departments. Such offices primarily implement foreign loan programs, within the framework of which public procurement is carried out.
“We [i.e. Armenia] need to have a single procurement platform,” noted Karen Karapetyan. “And the ministries shall order procurements through this organization.”
