YEREVAN. – The newly appointed Minister of Culture of Armenia, Armen Amiryan, has permanent residence permit (“green card”) in the US, according to Zhamanak newspaper.
“Years ago, Armen Amiryan had purchased, through his brother-in-law, a house, for several hundred thousand dollars, in the densely Armenian-populated Glendale upland sector of [the State of California in] the US.
“Later, it became known[, however,] that Armen Amiryan sold this house, due to financial difficulties.
“But the whole family continues to hold the right of permanent residence by heading for the US every 6 months, to update the ‘green card’ and to ‘renew’ it,” wrote Zhamanak.
