YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) has not yet discussed the matter of who will be heading the party campaign headquarters, in the lead-up to the parliamentary election next April.

Vahram Baghdasaryan, head of the RPA National Assembly Faction, told about the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am, when asked whether now ex-PM Hovik Abrahamyan could head the party campaign headquarters.

“We still have a long time to discuss [this matter],” said Baghdasaryan. “It’s too early to talk about this headquarters.”

To the query as to whether Abrahamyan enjoys enough confidence to assume—after his dismissal from the office of Prime Minister—the difficult task of securing votes for the RPA, Vahram Baghdasaryan responded: “We [i.e. the party] have many trustworthy people; that’s why we will discuss for long, who will be in the headquarters.”

And when asked whether the ex-PM continues to be among the trusted ones, the RPA parliamentary faction leader noted: “Our [party] executive [board] members are trustworthy.”
