The American scientists have found that attractiveness of people changes depending on their surroundings. The work of the psychologists is published in Psychological Science journal, reports the Planet-today. The US scientists have conducted several studies and proved that attractiveness of an individual is a very subjective factor and may change depending on the appearance of people around him.

According to Nicholas Führer, the head researcher of the study, being in the company of objectively good looking people, one becomes to resemble them for the outside observers. The same rule works in regard to non-attractive people. Next to them one seems less glamorous for the outsiders.

The research team of Führer asked volunteers to assess the charm of good looking and not good-looking people around. Later, the participants were asked to observe the same people outside their company and evaluate their attractiveness. The research has shown that people's attractiveness in the eyes of the outside observers changes depending on their surroundings.
