ANTELIAS. – Learning about the latest situation in Aleppo, Syria, Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia of the Armenian Apostolic Church made contact with Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Prelate of the Armenian Diocese of Beroea, and asked him about the developments.

Archbishop Sarkissian informed Aram I about the dire situation of Armenians in Aleppo, and the Armenians that were killed as a result of the rockets that fell on the Armenian districts of the town, the Armenian Church Catholicosate of Cilicia—in Antelias, Lebanon—informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Aram I extended his condolences to the families of the victims, and lauded the self-sacrifice by the archbishop, the national authorities, and those devoted to defending the Armenian neighborhoods in Aleppo.

As reported earlier, five Armenians were killed and another eleven were wounded in Friday’s shelling of the densely Armenian-populated Villas’ District of Aleppo.
