A parliamentary election is conducted Saturday in Georgia.

Eight candidates are running for parliamentary seats from Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda towns in the densely Armenian-populated Samtskhe-Javakheti region of the country.

Unlike previous years, however, solely one single-mandate constituency has been formed in Akhalkalaki and Ninotsminda this year, and therefore only one Armenian MP will be elected from these two towns.

The political party, or election alliance, that receives the most number of votes in this election will have the right to nominate its PM candidate.
