ETCHMIADZIN. – Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II on Monday received Senior Lieutenant Sargis Gabrielyan, who was severely wounded during Azerbaijan’s provocative actions in March 2015, at the line of contact between the Karabakh and Azerbaijani troops.
The officer had received medical treatment in India, and returned to his homeland several days ago, Information Services of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Expressing his appreciation and giving his blessings to Senior Lieutenant Gabrielyan for his courageous service, the Catholicos expressed confidence that this military officer will continue to serve his homeland and the Armenian nation with the same spirit.
Gabrielyan, for his part, expressed gratitude to Karekin II and the board of the Armenian Holy Church of Nazareth in Kolkata, India, for their care toward and caretaking of him.
