Iran is expected to play positive role in the region without adherence to confessional chauvinism and interference in other countries’ affairs.

Turkish FM Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said the aforementioned on Thursday at a press-conference in Al Riyadh after the meeting of the Persian Gulf countries’ foreign ministers, Saudi Arabia Al Ekhbariya TV channel reports.

The Turkish FM also stressed that it is necessary to fight all kinds of terrorism.

For his part, Saudi Arabia FM Adel Al-Jubeir stated that Tehran knows the kingdom’s demands for normalizing ties, including observing the principle of good neighborly relations and refusal to consider the Shiah communities in Arabic countries as conductors of Iran’s expansionism.

“Shiahs in Kuwait, Lebanon, Iraq, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are citizens of these countries and Iran should have nothing to do with them,” Al-Jubeir added, RIA Novosti reports.  He was negative about the Shiah national militia soldiers in Iraq, who fight against Islamic State, calling them “armed group formed on religious grounds and subjected to Iran.”
