YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Friday received Transportation Minister of Russia Maksim Sokolov, who is also Russian co-chair of the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation.

The Sokolov-led Russian delegation has arrived in Armenia to participate in the fifth Armenian-Russian Interregional Forum, which is held on the same day in capital city Yerevan, the Press Office of the President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The interlocutors reflected on and underscored this event.

In addition, the President stated that Armenia-Russia allied state relations are developing on a solid basis of friendship and brotherhood, whose key component is interregional cooperation.

“Free movement creates new opportunities for intensification of bilateral economic relations,” Sargsyan told, in particular, to those in attendance to the talk. “[And] to reveal such kind of new opportunities, these days we are holding also the first International Forum of Eurasian Partnership.”

Sokolov, and the Russian regional governors comprising the aforesaid Russian delegation, for their part, also highly assessed decentralized cooperation between Armenia and Russia.
