The prosecutor’s office of Koblenz, Germany, assessed the appeal of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan against the termination of the investigation of the case against Böhmermann as groundless, reports the TASS.

In late March, Jan Boehmermann criticized the Turkish government's policy in ZDF television channel reading a satirical poem. In response, Ankara announced that the poem was insulting for the head of the state.  At the same time, Erdogan, applied to Mainz’ prosecutor's office.

At the beginning of October, the prosecutors’ office of Mainz dropped the criminal case against the comedian Jan Boehmermann, filed for the poem that had ‘insulted’ the Turkish President Erdogan. According to the prosecutor's office, there were no sufficient grounds to continue the investigation. Later, Erdogan appealed the verdict. The prosecutor’s office in Koblenz that was examining the verdict, dropped the appeal.
