The Armenian IT companies need to have representatives in the United States to get into the U.S. market, said the Google representative Paul Asoyan at the Silicon Valley UNLEASHED event organized in Yerevan at TUMO Center for Creative Technologies by HIVE Seed Fund.

“Armenian companies cannot get into U.S. techno market with B2B model unless they are represented with at least C-level (“chief”)”, Asoyan said.

According to him, the executive team or business can remain outside the United States, however, to get in touch with potential partners and gain trust, the companies should have representatives there. Asoyan noted that Armenia should try to become a powerful center of intellectual production of IT technologies. Armenia has all prerequisites to reach this goal, as there is still a reliable school of exact sciences in the country, he said.

Besides the Google representative, the head of Uber engineering department Raffi Krikorian, the former engineering manager of Twitter David Loftesness , and others took part in the event.
