YEREVAN. – Arman Tatoyan, the Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of Armenia, has petitioned to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights,  the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, the European Union High Representative  for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and the heads of the European Ombudsman Institute, the International Ombudsman Institute, and International Committee of the Red Cross.

Tatoyan petitioned to these international human rights organizations with respect to guaranteeing the safety of the Armenians living in Syria and providing assistance to them, the ombudsman’s office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In his respective letters to these international organizations, the human rights defender of Armenia expressed his concern, especially regarding the Armenians’ dying and suffering damages in the shelling in recent months in Syria, and requested active assistance within the competence of these organizations.
