YEREVAN. - The new Government program proposes to support employment through active programs.

Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, Artem Asatryan, said the aforementioned to journalists after the extraordinary Cabinet session on Tuesday, during which the new Government program was adopted.  

It is necessary to increase the targetedness of social programs, change the social insurance system and shift to more active employment programs, he noted. 

According to Asatryan, the program doesn’t include increase of pensions and benefits, since the current Government will work till the parliamentary elections in April 2017.  The 2017 budget program doesn’t mention this either, he added.
