Presidents of Syria and Russia, Bashar al-Assad and Vladimir Putin, on Wednesday discussed the normalization of the Syrian crisis on phone, SANA state information agency reports.

According to the source, Putin confirmed the firm position of Russia on continuing the struggle against terrorism and maintaining the territorial integrity of Syria.

For his part, al-Assad thanked Putin for the efforts exerted by Russia on the international platform despite the pressure from certain countries. He confirmed Syria’s decisiveness to combat terrorism parallel with achieving national reconciliation and intensifying political process for crisis normalization.
