Ex-Speaker of Brazilian parliament, Eduardo Cunha, has been arrested in Brasilia on the sidelines of a corruption case, TASS reports, citing Globo.
He will soon be moved to Curitiba city prison (state of Paraná).
On October 14, the ex-Speaker was charged with corruption and money laundering. According to the investigation, he received a bribe in the amount of 2.4 mln reals ($750,000) from state oil and gas company Petrobras for assisting in signing contracts in Benin and then using bank accounts for laundering those means.
