YEREVAN. – The National Assembly of Armenia on Thursday passed in the second and final reading—and with a vote of 103 for, 4 against, and 4 abstentions—the bill on making amendments and additions to the Electoral Code, and the package of related laws.

Pursuant to the bill, the lists of those that voted during elections in the country shall be made public, so as to rule out suspicions that the ballots of those who did not vote may have been used.

This draft law also proposes continued video recording and live streaming at all election precincts.

In addition, this bill stipulates a criminal penalty of two to five years of imprisonment for voting in someone else’s stead.
