YEREVAN. – The National Assembly (NA) of Armenia on Friday approved the new government program.

The program was endorsed with a vote of 85 for, 7 against, and 6 abstentions.

Before the respective voting, however, Levon Zurabyan, deputy chairman of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Party and head of the ANC NA Faction, had announced: “We cannot express confidence to any government that was nominated by the ruling party. Thus, we will express our non-confidence to the government program, by voting against [it].”

The opposition Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) NA Faction had stated that it will abstain from voting.

The ruling coalition’s Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun and Republican (RPA) Factions, on the other hand, supported the government program.
