YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday received a delegation, led by Fra’ Matthew Festing, the Prince and Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, who is paying a state visit to Armenia.

A talk was held with an extended format between the two delegations, informed the Press Office of the President.

“The visit to Armenia by the Grand Master of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta is a very important event in the history of our diplomatic relations, and I am confident that it will enable a great opportunity for intensifying our cooperation,” President Sargsyan noted, in particular, in his welcoming remarks. “We have a Christian system of values from the same source, and these are the foundations which today enable us to form active interstate relations.”

Fra’ Festing, in turn, underscored his current state visit to Armenia, from the viewpoint of further strengthening bilateral relations. He said it is especially important that the representatives of Christian nations and Christian organizations are able to establish as close cooperation as possible with one another.
