YEREVAN. – Armenia and the European Union have not agreed on some sensitive issues during the negotiations on the new legal document, Armenian Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments Garegin Melkonyan told reporters on Monday presenting a number of events titled “EU for Business”.

“We are organizing the forth stage of negotiations in Armenia these days. The course of the negotiations is positive and constructive. Over the past months we reached agreement on some issues. Yes, there are sensitive issues on which, I hope, we will also come to an agreement. We are discussing matters concerning trade, customs, technical barriers in trade, certification, technical regulations, protection of intellectual property, as well as issues relating to state procurements, companies with government’s participation, competition, etc.”, Melkonyan said.

As for the dates of the agreement, the deputy minister noted that content of the agreement is much more important.

“It's quite extensive, concerns a large number of spheres. This does not mean that terms are of secondary importance”, he said emphasizing that it is very hard to give precise deadlines for these negotiations.
