Tajik border guards prevented Afghan drug dealers’ attempt of illegal drug trafficking in one of the border checkpoints between two countries, Interfax reported.

It was reported that Tajik border guards opened fire at smugglers during illegal transportation of narcotics.

Nearly 15 kg of narcotic substances, AKM-47 assault rifle and 56 pieces of live ammunition were found and seized at the site.

According to a spokesman for the Main Border Guard Directorate at Tajikistan’s State Committee for National Security (SCNS), Muhammad Ulughojaev the shootout started after an unknown armed group did not obey the requirements of the militaries.
