The head of the Scottish Government Nicola Sturgeon announced that her threats to hold a referendum of independence in the region is not a bluff, reports the BBC. At the first joint session held in two years for Great Britain’s, Scotland’s, and Northern Ireland’s government heads and members, Nicola Sturgeon announced that it has been warm words only, she has heard from the United Kingdom Government and nothing else. As Sturgeon said, in contrary to many assumptions, she does not make a bluff, when announces about holding a second referendum of independence. Sturgeon stated, if the only thing Scotland gets as a result of negotiations is a “closed door,”  they  will have a better option to select. “I am not going to sit back and see Scotland driven over a hard Brexit cliff edge,” said the first minister of Scotland and the Scottish National Party leader.

After the referendum held in UK on Brexit, Nicola Sturgeon said that Scotland, where the majority voted for remaining in the EU, might hold a referendum to separate from the UK and remain in the EU. Last week Sturgeon’s government published a draft law on the referendum for a preliminary discussion.
